FOWT hosts trail walks & hikes the First Sunday of each month.
Upcoming hikes:
- March through December 2024 – FOWT will be hosting a “Know Your Park Hike” every First Sunday of the month from 10-11:30am (weather pending).

- August 4 – Butterflies –Walk & Learn with Elise Larsen, Assistant Research Professor, Dept of Biology, Georgetown University
- September 1 – Audubon Society Bird Walk with Larry Meade, ASNV
- October 6 – Mushroom Foray, William Needham, Mycological Association of Washington, DC
- November 3 – Reptiles, Turtles and more
- December 1 – Winter Woods Walk Friends of Wolf Trap NP
- Wednesday, January 1, 2025 – First Day Hike at Wolf Trap National Park for the Performing Arts Noon- 1pm

Hikes registration is facilitated via the EventBrite ticketing system. If a hike is canceled or postponed, you will receive an email notification from EventBrite. Please check your mail system and junk/spam folder if you did not receive an email in your Inbox.

Wolf Trap National Park for the Performing Arts staff will be also be periodically hosting backstage tours to learn about the Filene Center’s history & see how the theater works behind-the-scenes!
