Wolf Trap Creek Flood – 07/08/19

These are photos from the flooding of the Wolf Trap park after a strong storm on July 8th, 2019.

The pond waters reach almost to the turtle info board.

The pond trail after a few more yards – going counterclockwise.

At the far end, the pond (left) overflows across the trail (center) and into the creek right).

This is the plateau between the pond and the creek, just after the confluence.
In the far right you can see the steep slope into the parking lot.

Pond waters cross the trail and flow into the above mentioned plateau.
Not sure how that happened. Creek probably overflowed, filled the pond,
and the extra rain gave it more water than it could take.
